|    Lucy's Idea for Xena Reboot!    |
|    31 Oct 15 07:40:25    |
From: daviderl31@yahoo.com              Here's Lucy Lawless' idea for that Xena: Warrior Princess reboot              Nathalie Caron       Fri, Oct 30, 2015              When news broke a few months back that 'Evil Dead' partners-in-crime Sam       Raimi and Rob Tapert (Lucy Lawless’ hubby) had signed on the dotted line to       allow NBC to develop a 'Xena: Warrior Princess' reboot, the Internet broke.              When asked if she had her druthers about the series if she'd be the one       playing the character again, and what sort of Xena TV show she’d like to do,       her answer was rather interesting, to say the least:               “If I had my druthers, it would be me in a one-off comedy with Renee       O’Connor,       Bruce Campbell, and Ted Raimi. Just a ridiculous kind of… Do you remember       the “Carry On” movies? They were British. It would be an American version       of, I don’t know, some insane, just getting-the-band-back-together for some       insane mission that we’re all on. We’re forced to bring one another back.       An       unusual alliance. We have to solve a great problem.        That would be my dream scenario. I would not play Xena, probably, in a       TV series because it’s just the physicalities. But I don’t know — it’s       amazing what they do with stunt people these days.”                     But would Lawless actually consider playing the kickass Warrior Princess       again if the scenario demanded a passing of the baton of sorts (of either       the title or Xena name) to someone else? And if she could still be part of       the new reboot in some way? What about if there is a second-generation kind       of Xena? So many questions! Here's what Lawless said:               “Well, it would depend on are they going to honor the original intent of       the show? Which is about empowerment and honor of the individual. People who       are different, marginalized people, all that stuff. That’s the heart of the       show. So you have to keep that covenant.        I don’t know what they’re going to do or what they’re going to       write. So       it’s way too early to say whether I would jump it. Could be something       completely different. They could fill it with T&A — in which case, that for       me would be a deal breaker. It’s like, 'Over to you. Bye-bye.' ”               [[considering all the sex and nudity Lucy did in 'Spartacus'       seems like she would expect some T&A; new times, new reboot.]]              http://daviderl.com/LucyLawless.html .       http://daviderl.com/ReneeOConnor.html .       http://daviderl31.blogspot.com/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
