   The episode starts out with an apparently dying King Lias in bed with   
   Princess Diana and hubby Philemon standing by. The king says he sent for   
   Xena to help the transition between his rule and Diana's to go smoothly.   
      
   Next scene is Joxer in a tavern talking about his exploits dealing with   
   Callisto. Gabrielle comes in and calls him up on it. He tells her that King   
   Lias is dying and Xena might need his (Joxer's) help. Joxer says he already   
   talked to Xena and she's on her way to the castle. But Gabrielle says Xena   
   is in Thebes and they are to meet in the tavern the next day. Joxer said she   
   left only an hour ago, and then hinted that some kind of hanky panky went on   
   between him and her.   
      
   Gabrielle grabs his nose and reminds him that it's Xena's reputation he's   
   playing with. Then she leaves for the castle.   
      
   Next we see Xena and Agis in the castle, and Diana and Philemon greet them.   
   Xena says Agis is an advisor to the king of Thebes and can be trusted.   
   Gabrielle arrives. Diana tells the guard that Xena's commands are to be   
   obeyed. After Diana leaves, Xena has Gabrielle thrown into the dungeon.   
      
   Then Xena is alone and Agis comes into her room, berating her – it isn't   
   Xena but another look-alike named Meg. She wants to know when she gets to be   
   Diana. Agis tells her when it's time. Agis wants to command King Lias' army   
   to attack Meridius and sell the citizens as slaves.  He tells her she made a   
   mistake throwing Gabrielle in the dungeon and she needs to fix things.   
      
   Xena/Meg visits Gabrielle in the dungeon and tells her it's all part of her   
   plan but can't tell her what it is, and she'd be safer in the dungeon. And   
   not to contact Diana. Then Xena/Meg leaves.   
      
   The next day Xena enters the tavern and is accosted by some drunk patrons   
   wanting some of the "favors" she bestowed on Joxer. She knocks a few of them   
   out, then Agis' men come in to kill Xena but she sips some wine and spits it   
   over a candle flame, driving them away with the flames.   
      
   Xena/Meg is in her room and looks out of a window to see a guard arguing   
   with Joxer about letting Joxer enter the castle. She tells the guard to let   
   him in. Then seats herself seductively on her bed waiting for Joxer. She   
   makes advances, and tells him she will have Gabrielle executed. Joxer can't   
   go through with it saying he is ruining a great friendship, and manages to   
   escape.   
      
   Diana sees Joxer and he thinks it's Xena/Meg wearing a sexy dress with MUCHO   
   cleavage. He hugs her, puts his hands on her butt and is thrown into the   
   dungeon with Gabrielle. They both agree that Xena is acting very   
   unpredictable.   
      
   Xena comes in to see Diana crying about King Lias, and Diana tells her she   
   is more concerned about that than the thugs who attacked Xena. Xena leaves   
   to see about castle security. It turns out that Diana is Meg. Behind a   
   curtain, some of Agis' men have the real Diana bound and gagged.   
      
   Back in the dungeon, Gabrielle has explained to Joxer that Diana and Xena   
   are look-alikes. Joxer still maintains that Xena has a thing for him by what   
   happened between them in the tavern. The dungeon door opens and Diana/Meg   
   comes in, and tells Joxer what he did was a misunderstanding and he can   
   leave, she will explain 'the plan' to him, but Gabrielle has to stay.   
      
   Diana/Meg wants time alone with Joxer, but the nanny tells her that she is   
   needed in the nursery to sing her and Philemon's baby to sleep. She tells   
   Joxer to wait in her room. After a while the real Xena comes in and Joxer   
   tells her that Diana wants him but they can be adult about it and he slaps   
   her on the butt and she grabs him and asks if he is suicidal. She asks where   
   Gabrielle is and he tells her in the dungeon where she put her. They hear   
   footsteps and go behind a curtain. It is Agis and Diana/Meg talking about   
   Joxer, she thinks he's cute. After they leave, Xena and Joxer go to the   
   dungeon to get Gabrielle.   
      
   Xena explains that there are now three of them that look alike. When   
   Gabrielle wants proof she's talking to the real Xena, Xena uses her Chakram   
   to ricochet off several things and catches it before it hits Gabrielle.   
      
   Xena tells them to split up to find the real Diana.   
      
   Meg comes out from behind a bush with Gabrielle's hands tied. She tells   
   Agis' man that Agis wants Gabrielle taken to where Diana is being held. And   
   she wants to go since Xena is looking for her.   
      
   When they get to the cave, it turns out that Diana/Meg is really Diana/Xena   
   and she and Gabrielle  knock all the guards out. The real Diana kicks one of   
   the thugs.   
      
   Agis is mad that his man led Xena to the cave, but there is still one card   
   to play – Diana and Philemon's baby. Xena has Diana and Philemon hide in a   
   secret chamber.   
      
   Diana/Xena, in the castle, comes across Joxer and she tells him the fake   
   Diana's name is Meg. Joxer thinks it's a pretty name. Then Diana/Xena has to   
   pretend to be Diana/Meg when Agis walks up and tells her they have to talk.   
      
   Back in Diana's room Diana/Meg sees Gabrielle there and tries to leave, but   
   Gabrielle won't let her and they have a wrestling cat fight until Gabrielle   
   is sitting on top of her and starts to punch her in the face. Diana/Meg   
   gives up. The end up talking, and Diana/Meg tells Gabrielle about the death   
   of her father the day she was born, and running away from one of her   
   mother's boyfriends, and her mother dying.   
      
   Agis talking to Diana/Xena says the king has to be killed so he can take   
   over the thrown. Diana/Xena suggests hiding a dagger in the baby's blanket.   
   Agis orders the baby to be brought to them.   
      
   King Lias comes into Diana's room and starts talking to fatherly to   
   Diana/Meg.   
      
   After the baby is brought, Joxer runs in with swords yelling to Xena. Agis   
   tells his men to kill Joxer so Diana/Xena has to fight the men, and one of   
   them takes the baby.   
      
   Agis and his men burst into Diana's room and he tells Diana/Meg to kill King   
   Lias to prove she is Meg and not Diana.
