   2.15 A Day In The Life   
      
   First airdate Feb 17, 1997   
      
   The episode starts with Xena and Gabrielle asleep. One of a band of thugs   
   tries to kill Xena but she catches his sword by clapping onto the blade. She   
   kicks him off then grabs a cooking pot and a frying pan and proceeds to   
   fight them off.  When they go after Gabrielle, Xena flips onto a water skin,   
   spraying Gabrielle in the face and she wakes up. She fights off a few if   
   them but then is caught from behind. Xena throws the frying pan, hits all   
   three in the face, and the bent up pan lands next to Gabrielle. She   
   chastises Xena for not using her weapons.   
      
   Xena puts the Pinch on one of the thugs (from BEHIND??) and he tells her   
   that a warlord named Zagreas wants to attack a village named Piedmont and   
   wants Xena out of the way.   
      
   While trying to figure out where Piedmont is, a man named Hower runs up,   
   then realizes who Xena is. He says a giant is threatening to flatten Laurel,   
   his village, and wants Xena's help.   
      
   Gabrielle makes a pro/con list to see which village needs the most help.   
   Xena flips a coin and chooses Laurel.   
      
   Gabrielle tries to hit Xena with her staff a couple of times, testing her,   
   but Xena catches it easily.   
      
   While traveling to Laurel, Gabrielle is trying to guess the name of a   
   warlord Xena has killed. They stop while Xena catches some fish by hand, and   
   an eel for Gabrielle, for their breakfast. Hower asks Gabrielle if Xena has   
   ever thought about settling down.   
      
   Gabrielle says no, that Xena likes what she (Gabrielle) does. She tells Xena   
   Hower has fallen for her.   
      
   Xena has Hower deliver a message to Zagreas that she won't get in his way if   
   he stays out of hers.   
      
   Gabrielle is acting out an action scene to put down in her scrolls. When she   
   gets the scroll it, she finds that Xena has torn off a corner of it to   
   answer the call of nature, because there were no good leaves in the bush.   
   "You used my SCROLLS?"   
      
   Xena and Gabrielle find Laurel and meet Minya, Hower's girlfriend. She wants   
   to help them to work on a plan. Xena and Gabrielle have a hot bath together   
   while Minya brings the hot water. Gabrielle suggests they use mirrors to   
   concentrate light and heat on the Giant's helmet so he'll take it off and   
   expose the soft spot between his eyes.   
      
   Minya gets jealous of Xena when it's obvious Hower is infatuated with her.   
      
   Xena sends Hower back to Zagreas telling him not to attack Laurel.   
      
   Gabrielle trades Xena's whip to Minya for her frying pan.   
      
   Xena finally tells Gabrielle the warlord she is trying to guess is   
   Theodorus, who Callisto killed, but was in Xena's body at the time.   
      
   Hower comes back to say Zagreas is heading to Laurel, as Xena planned.   
      
   The find the giant's footprint and Xena realizes it belongs to Gareth, who   
   killed Goliath's family.   
      
   Hower tells Minya he's in love with Xena.   
      
   Xena constructs a kite with a belt buckle dangling from it with a string.   
   She intends to have lighting kill Gareth. She tries to get it flying but   
   only gets ridicule from Minya and doubt from Gabrielle. But  it's finally   
   flying, and Gabrielle takes some of the credit.   
      
   Xena leaves Gabrielle flying it while she goes to talk to Hower. But he   
   won't be swayed, saying he'll be patient until Xena comes around.   
      
   Gabrielle tries to jump down on Xena from the roof of the barn but Xena   
   moves out of the way. Gabrielle goes in to talk to Hower without success.   
      
   They can hear it when Zagreas' army runs into Gareth. Zagreas has escaped   
   and goes to Laurel to confront Xena. Minya has dressed in leather at Xena's   
   suggestion, and Zagreas attacks her, thinking there are now two Xenas. She   
   knocks him out.   
      
   Xena leaves to find Gareth. She climbs a tree, and after taunting him, jumps   
   on his back and ties off the kite string to the leather straps. She makes   
   him chase her, the kite flying behind him,  and just as he catches up to   
   Xena, a bolt of lightning hits the kite and Gareth is electrocuted.   
      
   That night Xena and Gabrielle are camping for the night, lying beside each   
   other looking at the stars and describing what they look like. Gabrielle   
   suddenly hits Xena in the nose with her staff. But then she thinks Xena let   
   her. And kisses her on the cheek goodnight.

   Once again a winner of an episode!  But maybe after the drama of the past   
   three eps, this one was just average comic relief – Nah!! It was that good!   
      
   So much about this I really loved. Mostly how much fun Xena and Gabrielle   
   were having, from the arguing about the frying pan, to talking about Hower's   
   crush, to – well, just about everything. And it seemed like Lucy and Renee   
   were having fun with it also.   
      
   No serious drama, and Lucy recovered from her injury.   
      
   What I really liked –   
      
   Gabrielle wanting Xena to put the Pinch on Hower so she could ask the   
   questions.   
      
   Gabrielle's pro/con list   
      
   Gabrielle using Xena's Chakram to cut fish. "Oh, that's just great! It's   
   gonna to smell like fish for days!"   
      
   Gabrielle acting out the scene she wants to write down.   
      
   Xena's innocent "I used a piece that didn't have much writing on it."   
      
   The hot tub scene.   
      
   Gabrielle: "Have faith, Gabrielle. Have faith." Then the flying parchment   
   falling down on her.   
      
   Gabrielle's  "Yes!  Woo-hoo!  We did it!  We did it!  We did it!  Yeah!"   
   when the flying parchment finally was air borne. Chasing after the string   
   when she dropped it.   
      
   And "Your flying parchment is stuck in a tree."   
      
        A bored Xena tossing her Chakram, making it ricochet around until she   
   catches it.   
      
   I never realized how much fun Gabrielle was in this episode until I started   
   listing my fave scenes.
