       Decided to go back and watch the 'trilogy' (were on one disk) -  The   
   Quill Is Mightier, Maternal Instincts and The Bitter suite.   
      
           Right at the end of 'Maternal' Xena and Gabrielle are standing by   
   two funeral pyres. And I always assumed one was for Solan and the other for   
   Hope.   
      
           But -- would Xena really allow Hope's pyre to be next to Solan's?   
   With Gabrielle there to remind her of why Solan died?   
      
           The only other death was Kaleipus, the centaur. But if it was his   
   pyre, it was WAY too small.   
      
           But the dramatic effect of them side by side, and Gabrielle's final   
   words, and them walking away in different directions....   
      
         Also curious that Xena didn't want to keep any of Solan's ashes.
