I don't know ... to me, that seemed pretty obvious, and I'd seriously be
worried about Mulder if he didn't pick up on it.

I mean, come on. 'I'm not saying Nathan was flighty, I don't want to paint
him as that'? What an incredibly awkward turn of phrase. Especially coming
from a woman who should be having a hard time turning ANY phrases, what with
her husband having just been murdered and all. Its use by her in that
context only makes ANY sense if it was a hint. And when you combine that
with the one or two other ones she dropped, Mulder would have to be not
paying attention at all to catch it. Maybe it's a bit of a leap to say it
meant she killed him, but she obviously at least *knew* something about it
   that she shouldn't have.

I can understand how *Scully* could miss it, because she just wasn't looking
for it, and it wouldn't have fit into her understanding of the situation
even if she'd noticed it. But Mulder? That's what Mulder DOES, is notice
stuff like that! That's why he's Mulder, and not just some ordinary
   investigator.
