Ahhh. You haven't lived until you've watched 'Field Trip' while actually
   tripping!

As I recently mentioned, I bought the first 4 seasons on DVD just a short
time ago and have been reliving most of the classics. The first showing of
the movie is in only a few hours, so I won't have time to hook up my old VCR
and watch my VHS copies of the later seasons. But that's okay. If the movie
is supposed to be a MOTW-type thing, it might be better not to stuff my
brain with all that late-period mytharc stuff immediately before I watch it.
It could be more fun going into it relatively cold.

I never did really care for the mytharc after about S6. I love Doggett, like
Reyes a lot more than probably most other people do, and I think the
standalone episodes were actually somewhat reinvigorated with a new energy
by DD's departure -- it had gotten to the point where the fact that he
obviously didn't want to be there was making watching him less fun. But the
mytharc was never really the same after the Syndicate got burned in 'One
Son'. (Although the 'Biogenesis' three-parter wasn't bad.) Especially with
all that pregnancy and romance and little mewling human larva stuff that it
was saddled with. My absolute favourite eps from the first 5 to 6 seasons
are mostly mytharc, but from S6 on I really much prefer the standalones.
