I just don't understand why some people are so deathly afraid of seeing
   something too 'graphic'.

You're a grown-up, aren't you? Why do you feel that your eyes need to be
protected from seeing anything disturbing? What are you so afraid of? It's
just a movie. It's not real. It's not going to hurt you. Your mommy will
protect you from the 'Scary Monsters' (see, on-topic again!).

Violence and darkness are a part of life, a fundamental aspect of the human
condition. It's something that art has to explore, and something that all
people need to eventually come to terms with in life. What is the point of
running away from it and closing your eyes and sticking your fingers in your
ears and going 'la la la la la, I can't hear you' and trying to pretend it
doesn't exist? You're not going to suddenly burst into flames if, Tempe
forbid, you see something too violent in a movie.

I don't really think it was all that graphic, beyond a severed arm or two.
But I might have forgotten some stuff. Either way, it's a real shame that
you would not go see a film you hope to enjoy, just because it has a little
gore (not Al) in it. Why let such a piddling little detail keep you from
   being entertained?
