   Yes I did. At the end on season 7 when there were rumours Duchovny would   
   be leaving, I thought it quite feasible that they would kill off the   
   character.

   The few times I've seen it, the plot did revolve around having to save   
   him from near death experiences. The recent season finale of Dr Who had   
   just such a sub plot.

   Reserve judgement until you have seen it. It's very camp. While I think   
   this is funny in moderation, such as on Dr. Who - R T Davies goes well   
   overboard here, IMO.
