   Actually, while the visual details and extreme speed and resolution of the   
   Angelator are fictional, there actually ARE a number of devices in use, at   
   about a dozen forensics labs across the country, that essentially do the   
   same thing -- creating a 3-dimensional (actually 4-dimensional, including   
   time) holographic reconstruction of events.   
      
   It's actually a fine example of the relatively unimportant details being   
   fudged a bit for dramatic purposes, but the basic principles being entirely   
   accurate.
