   It's pretty simple. One of the first and most important facts to gather in   
   any murder investigation is the identity of the victim. Reconstruction of   
   the face allows them to find out whose remains they've discovered, as well   
   as to confirm that identity by showing the picture to the victim's loved   
   ones.   
      
   It has also been expressed by several characters on the show that they find   
   Angela's pictures help remind them of the victim's humanity, and keep them   
   from getting too coldly logical and objective and forgetting that those   
   bones on the table actually used to belong to a person, a person whose life   
   was stolen from them and it's their job to find justice for.
