I just got the XF urge last night and watched 'DPO' as well, along with
   'Fallen Angel' and 'Firewalker'.

In addition to Jack Black, Giovanni Ribisi has had some increase in
popularity since then. I remember hearing him mentioned frequently a few
years back for some movie or something -- don't remember the details.

Another guest star from an episode I watched last night who isn't really
famous, I think, but should be: Shawnee Smith. Comparing her performance in
'Firewalker' as a naive young student being mind-controlled by a fungus with
   (1) her appearance as a courageous and determined young heroine in the 1988
version of 'The Blob', and (2) her several hilarious years as ditzy and
slutty assistant Linda on 'Becker', it's obvious this woman has amazing
range and talent, and deserves a lot more attention.

What is Jewel Staite on now? I didn't know she was someone of 'prominence'.
She must be on a show I don't watch.

Who is Clive Bruckman? Wasn't he the host of the British version of 'Whose
   Line Is It Anyway?'

   (Psssst: It's 'Clyde'.)

The Internet stuff is indeed very dated in that episode. I don't really
notice much of the other stuff you were talking about, with big cel phones
and all, but you can definitely tell in '2SHY' that they were on a whole
level below the sophistication that modern portrayals of the technology
have. It was obvious that it was made in the earliest days of the Net
craze -- they're awkward both with the technical details and the dialogue,
clearly talking about something that's newfangled and not yet clearly
   understood by everyone.

BTW, I find it very interesting that your Season 4 box set apparently
contains all the episodes from Season 3.
