They seem to be open to doing more episodes       it's just that they (Gillian Anderson and particularly David       Duchovny) don't want to do 20+ episode seasons. We might see       a series of mini-series so to speak.              I would also imagine that they are trying to bring in new       fans and not just the people who watched the show 15-20       years ago or more. It will be hard to do this jumping into       the middle of a complicated alien conspiracy. Besides, the       X-Files just wouldn't be the same without the standalone       episodes. The variety of story drops to one, there's little       opportunity for comic relief, etc. But here's what David       Duchovny had to say about it:              Quote:       > As for what that script entailed, Duchovny wasn't biting       > -- "I can tell you absolutely nothing--and it's       > fantastic," the actor said -- but he did reveal that the       > six new episodes would feature a mix of standalone stories       > and the mythology for which the series was known. And       > creator Chris Carter may not be stopping at six, either.       >       > "I would be open to doing another cycle," Duchovny said       > of extending the revival for another round. "I don't know       > that I could do a 20-episode version of this show at this       > point in my life, and I don't know that Gillian [Anderson]       > could. But I think everybody is open ended on what happens       > after this. Certainly, we didn't bring it back with the       > idea of ending it."                     --       http://www.megalextoria.com:1975              --       --> http://www.megalextoria.com/forum2 <--              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
