|    Original 4:3 (Pan & Scan) TV Broadcast -    |
|    25 Nov 15 07:54:46    |
Hi everyone,              For archival purposes I am currently on the lookout for S8 and S9 in the       original square TV 4:3 Pan & Scan format. I own the complete series DVD       boxsets (Collectors Ed.) and Season 8 and 9 are widescreen as you know.              Would anyone by any chance have recorded properly the original TV broadcasts       in 4:3 format? Maybe with a decent DVD recorder or capture card? I would need       it to be as close to Master quality as possible.               I would gladly (re)purchase those seasons in 4:3 if they were available...but       apparently all releases are widescreen for S8 and S9 -even the Japanese and       Chinese boxsets.              Film student here, I'm currently doing research on the X-Files and trying to       locate the 4:3 broadcast to do a scene-by-scene comparison of perceived       tension and psychological impact when compared to the open matte (16:9       widescreen) version in the        official DVD release. This is my final research paper, so image quality is       important to be projected properly.              Any help is much appreciated indeed!!!              Best,              Carlos              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
