   Suppose that I am correct for a moment and there was indeed an explosion   
   somewhere in the asteroid belt.   
      
   What implications would this have ?!?   
      
   1. Would there be a hole in the asteroid belt ? (Can it be seen from earth   
   or satellites, maybe hubble ?)   
      
   2. Would there be a "blast wave" that blows away all other asteroids ?!?   
   (But there is no air in space ?)   
      
   So how do nuclear explosions behave in space ?   
      
   3. Anyway if debry does fly around then perhaps earth could be in danger of   
   "shrapnel".   
      
   So there might actually be some kind of debry heading our way...   
      
   I am not sure how long it would take for that stuff to get here...   
      
   You guys better watch the skies with your hopefully capable and advanced   
   equipment...   
      
   Another explanation could be that some planet was hit with something and I   
   couldn't see the planet but did see the explosion...

   I tell you what I think really happened:   
      
   1. A big comet from outerspace hit another rock/asteroid somewhere in the   
   asteroid belt around our planets.   
      
   2. This led to a big nuclear explosion which was visible from earth.
