   aircraft seen "chasing" ufos (1/2)
   03 Jun 21 06:41:43

   EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
   - We look at ~50 UFO sightings in the US involving unknown objects
apparently being chased by convention aircraft incl military jets.
   - The pattern of "chases" can be predicted by many other data
including UFO sightings over (specifically) Montana -- possibly
related to visits to strategic locations -- or even sightings of Bigfoot.
   - Other predictive variables include weather conditions in the Arctic
and Southern Ocean and ocean temperatures down to 100m.
   - Patterns familiar from prev posts include a link with
cosmic rays as detected in Hawaii and phytoplankton growth in the
Southern Ocean and near the South Pole ("southwest Antarctic").

While military research on UFOs make have been kept under wraps for
most of the past 70y, sightings of military jets chasing various odd
things in the sky have been a regular feature of reports from the 60s.

From the NUFORC database reports featuring terms of some object being
"chased" by conventional aircraft, mostly jets and mostly "military
   jet", the data looks like:

Year	Number of "X chased by [military] jet"
   1965	1
   1972	1
   1975	1
   1978	2
   1991	1
   1994	1
   1997	1
   1999	1
   2001	1
   2003	1
   2005	1
   2007	3
   2008	5
   2009	2
   2010	3
   2011	2
   2012	6	<-- max
   2014	4
   2015	1
   2016	4
   2017	2
   2018	2
   2019	2
   2020	2

We can throw this into the usual s/w to determine which features of
the weather, planetary positions or other odd sightings have
"something to do with" jets chasing UFO's.

And the results are interesting and maybe offer clues to why there is
suddenly such interest, at least in some parts of the US military, to
figure out more about the strange objects and their possible intentions.

The list of what the AI thinks are "interesting" relationships culled

As usual, all these ARMA models pass statistical tests amount to 99%
confidence. This is high enough that most if not all the above are not
just due to chance patterns in the datasets.

At the top of the list is ufo-MT -- the code for UFO sightings over
Montana. Apparently UFO sightings over Montana like like the pattern
of UFO's chased by jets around 4 years later. Why Montana? We can
maybe guess it might have something to do with ICBMs or strategic nukes.

There have been some fairly well documented cases of "visitations" to
ICBM silos where missiles appeared to be deactivated. We can speculate
section of the military might want to prevent repeat performances of
same and be prepared to at least try to harass unidentified aircraft
that were trying to overfly strategic nuclear sites.

Most of the other items follow familiar patterns. Chases have
"something to do with" temperatures nr the north pole ("lat80"), cloud
heights over the Southern Ocean ("zband-5"), and plankton growth in
the southern hemisphere and nr south pole ("pseudo2" and "n2o_spo").

Water temperatures between depths of 1 and 100 m predict about 1/3 of
chases (in the same year) and Bigfoot sightings across the US predict
about 1/2 of chases 3y later.

And, finally, we see a return of a relationship with cosmic radiation.
It seems UFO chases like other UFO sightings are affected by cosmic
rays. In this case the HLEA is the station in Hawaii that measures the
radiation. Rays from that location predict around 1/2 of UFO chase
sightings 4 years later. The \beta shows that more radiation foreshadows
fewer chases in later years. From prev data posted it seems they hide
out in periods when cosmic rays are high. If "they" evolved in the
deep oceans on Earth or some other planet or moon it would make sense
they maybe haven't developed the kind of thick skins humans and other
   surface dwellers might have.

Some of these relationships are unexplained, some have a better mental
model. Conditions in the Southern Ocean incl plankton growth and N2O
levels in the atm in key locations seem to be a major concern of some
chunk of UFO activity. We've looked at this before and it seems a
chunk of UFO sightings seem to highly correlate with edible
phytoplankton (algae) but not so much with inedible phytoplankton
(types related to red tides) or plankton that sustain O2 levels in the
atm. We might speculate it's a food and raw chemicals source.

If Our Friends (tm; not necessarily friendly) come from some other
planet, as indicated by the highly significant links between UFO
sightings (incl chases) and the positions of key outer planets like
Uranus, maybe Earth plankton is a secondary food source similar to
what they find back home. Or if UFO are "home grown" is may relate to
a human or nonhuman group "living sustainably off the (human) grid".
