Seemed a mundane story until I read a piece in the normally laughable       Washington Examiner characterising the move as a first strike against       the proposed rider to setup an official investigative group.       Seems the Pentagon wants to retain an exclusive right to invetigate       UFOs and implictly keeping under wraps most of what it knows or finds       out about them. Viva Loeb and his open science ideas! :)                     Pentagon forms task force to probe UFO presence in restricted areas       Daily Sabah, 24 Nov 2021 09:57Z       The United States Dept of Defense late on Tue said it will       establish a new group to investigate reports on the ...       [The move has been described by some reports as a kind of preemptive       strike against proposed legislation to setup such a group under       control of the Congress].              Pentagon launching new UFO investigation unit, replacing Navy group: report       Fox News, 24 Nov 2021 09:57Z       The federal govt is embarking on a new attempt to explain the       unexplainable. He says his       main objective as Academy Pres will be putting more emphasis on the       development of science students and young scientists and improving       the confidence in science among the general public. Good luck with the       hillbillies, guy :)].              [Fourth Wave:]       COVID infections break pandemic records across Europe as fourth wave       continues to wreak havoc       ABC News, 24 Nov 2021 20:35Z       Europe is once again the epicentre of the coronavirus pandemic, prompting       new curbs on movement and making health experts think again about booster       vaccination shots.              `This is urgent': Bipartisan proposal for UFO office pushes new boundaries       Politico, 18 Nov 2021              Secrets Of The UFOs: Australian military witnesses to UFOs speak out       7news/Spotlight, 20 Nov 2021 04:16Z       "I went to the communications centre and checked if there was any comms'       with aircraft or passing ships. There was nothing ...       [I watched the news special. Mostly a repeat of material used in       previous programs.        One new case came to light involving AUS Navy. Supposedly RAN       personnel regularly "see things" off the AUS coast. One witness       related a "light" that hovered and zig-zagged away after appearing       somewhere off Cairns.       The program went again through the Westall HS sighting in the 60s.       Mostly old information and old footage from same witnesses. New claims       that a report had been written but has become "lost" despite 30y       release rule. Other UFO reports are in National Archives. Not Westall case.       New witnesses claim they were silenced by US military people. Then 12       yo related she was told she must be silent forever about the incident       but was now breaking her silence.       She was told it was a "very special balloon" they had seen. Yet at same       time it was also "a matter of national importance". Not clear if they       meant AUS or US importance.       Other witnesses related there were 1 upto 5 objects involved. Some       describe disk. Science teacher -- who also claims he was threatened       by combination AUS and US military -- describe cigar.       Witnesses vary in whether or not anything landed. Some saw no       landings. Some say one. Some say more.       Program said Fire Brigade and Police attended the sighting. But also       within short time of reporting incident the AUS Army and RAAF turned       up with radiation and metal-detecting equipment and started digging in       the area of the alleged landing.       One witness claims several light aircraft "chased" the one or more       objects seen].              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
