|    dont wave at ufos (1/2)    |
|    08 Apr 22 06:58:09    |
I was recently talking to someone in a group that was planning to make       some kind of tech to track UFOs. I was interested in that part. But       during the email exchange they mentioned their "ultimate" goal was to       track ufos with the aim to communicate with them via radio signals. I       mentioned this may not be a great idea given some of the apparent       links in the data between some types of ufos and various unsavory       things like kidnaps, animal deaths, plane accidents, etc. I might       have said something like "you dont know who you're talking to -- it       may not be one of the good guys". That pretty much ended the exchange. ;)              But I should maybe take my own advice.              Over the past several months it seems quite normal at certain times of       the night to go outside and see little lights moving around the sky.       Mostly they are dim. Some are bright. Some of them are VERY VERY       bright. Some are moving at the speed of a high alt jetliner. Some are       moving 2x faster. Some are moving very very very slow. No doubt some       of them are satellites.              But when they move in patterns that dont seem to relate to orbiting       around the centre of the Earth -- e.g. in the S Hem it comes from the       SE and reaches the zenith and then proceeds to the SW in a gentle       curve -- you suspect some are not satellites. Also if they stop and       hover and emit irregular violet flashes maybe that's another sign they       are not all satellites.              We also see "interactions" between moving lights and various aircraft       flying -- I assume -- out of the local international airport.       Sometimes the aircraft (heavy choppers) look like military. Sometimes       you see several aircraft at the same time in diff parts of the       sky. Oftentimes these aircraft converge on some spot where a light had       been moving just a few seconds before. Surely, it seems, they are       chasing the lights. Hard to know what is going on. Taking photos? Or       trying to move them on using something I can't see -- like radio broadcasts.              Many of the aircraft also seem to have not-related-to-navigation       arrays of lights. One aircraft I saw low on the horizon seemed to have       a huge oval light on the top of it -- like a radar dome you see on       some military jets, but not a radar dome but a freaking big light.       What are they trying to do? Pretend to be a yellow orb to scare off       other ufos?              Anyway. Whatever they've been doing it's started to work. The number       of times I go out at night over the last couple of weeks and within       mins see some weird light moving around the sky or hovering and taking       photos (or whatever that violet flashing is about) has decreased to       almost nothing. The peak viewing time used to be 8pm to 10pm       locally. Now you can go out and see nothing moving -- apart from small       aircraft with strange arrays of lights flashing -- in the sky.              It even got to the point a couple days back when my old friend "flashy       aircraft" was orbiting to the S of me. I hadn't seen anything it might       have been there for. But maybe something showed up on radar or       whatever other gear they have. There was a flash of yellow -- I       assumed it was just a meteor -- and the little aircraft turned around       from its orbit and zeroed in on the spot the "meteor" had       appeared. Maybe it wasn't a meteor.              Anyway. I discovered in the PAST couple of days there's another time       you can see these little lights now they have been moved on from the       8-10pm slot.              I went out early this morning to dump some garbage. I looked up and       noticed the sky was unusually clear given we've been getting flooding       rains and the sky has been totally socked in most nights for the past       week or so. So I dumped the garbage, patted a couple of local strays       on the way back to the door, and went out to the back yard to look at       the sky.              There were some fluffy clouds around but at least 1/2 the sky was       crystal clear and dark. Within seconds I had spotted 2-3 little lights       coming from the N and headed approx S. They seemed to be above the       clouds. There was a big fluffy cloud with its edge immed above me,       extending over to (let's say) my left.              As the little lights moved -- a couple of the faster ones, maybe 2x       the speed of a jetliner -- they disappeared behind the clouds every       now and then.              One of them disappeared quick. But one of them was skirting on the       edge of the cloud bank and I could see it easy.              It got to around 60 deg above the S horiz and I thought -- appear       friendly -- and gave it a wave.              Uh, oh! It brightened and slowed. Don't know how far this thing was       away. But maybe a few km. Maybe it has good "eyesight"?              It started glowing brighter and brighter and seemed to be changing       shape or maybe dropping in altitude. A bit hard to tell.              My heart was certainly reacting to the change in flight       characteristics. I was starting to think of cars and trucks moving       around on nearby roads as some kind of protection. ;)              But within a few sec the light started to dim again and speed up and       disappear into the distance over the clouds.              But it wasn't over. Inside a minute a bright light started to come       back in my dir from the S, headed slightly to my left (east).              This time NO WAVING! ;)              It continued and disappeared behind a big tree in my front yard. I       didn't immed run around it to see where it had gone to.              About a minute later I went over to another yard on the opposite side       of my property and looked back. Nothing moving around AFAIK. I was a       bit surprised to see what looked like 2 Venuses. But over a min or 2       neither of them took off so I presume one was Venus and the other was       Saturn or Jupiter. Situation normal.              So I think my rule from now on. No waving at the funny little lights.                     --       Upcoming events:       8 Apr, 11am EDT: NOAA's Billion Dollar Disasters Q1 release              "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.       Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."       - Marie Curie              'The largest crack in this beautiful theory': Particle measurement sends       scientists into a spin       ABC Science, 07 Apr 2022 18:32Z       New measurements of a subatomic particle provide the strongest hint yet that       the leading theory of quantum physics that explains our universe may be       missing a fundamental element, scientists say.              Pentagon releases 1,500 pages of secret documents about shadowy UFO       programme after 4 year battle       The Sun, 05 Apr 2022 11:34Z       THE PENTAGON has released 1,574 pages of real-life X-Files related to its       secretive UFO programme after a four-year battle.       The bombshell Freedom of Information haul includes reports on the DIA's       research into the biological effects of UFO sightings on humans.       [Effects up to and including abduction and pregnancy].       [One] report noted that often these injuries are related to electromagnetic       radiation - and links them to "energy related propulsion systems".              Mysterious bright orbs and white lights spotted in sky above Cambridgeshire       last year       Cambridge News, 04 Apr 2022 14:53Z       Ash Ellis, founder of UFO Identified: "2021 may just turn out to be a hugely              [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
