XPost: alt.astronomy              While I'm fired up I'll comment on this, too. :)              Watched the ~2nd ep of the Craig Charles et al show "UFO Conspiracy".       I wasnt expecting much, given the title of the show, but it does have       some new information I havent read about in the funny papers -- and       I read the funny papers a lot.              My ears pricked up when they talked to what I presume was an       MIT radio astronomer that had done an analysis of UFO sightings.       He mentioned something about there being (the inevitable! :) problems       with the data but the patterns and cycles that he found       suggested some component of sightings suggested a surveillance       operation of Planet Dirt. But there were no details.              Some time back I posted something on the time-of-day patterns in the NUFORC       sightings. Given all times in their database seem to be local time,       and given sightings are sometimes reported YEARS after they were actually       made and therefore the time-of-day may not be exactly as you remembered       from 20y back (or whatever), and the vaguaries of daylight saving,       let alone exactly what timezone each sighting was made in anyway,       the patterns I found suggested some component of sightings related to       a bunch of UFO's that seemed to be counter-rotating.       I.e. they "daily" arrived on the US E coast, screamed across the country       at 1000s of mph, and disappeared off the US W coast.       Another interesting chunk seemed to represent a bump of sightings that       seems to occur across the country at the same time GMT and (at the time)       was even represented here in SE Australia.              I wonder if there were the patterns "the astronomer" was talking about.              I did a quick bing & google search to see if there was an obvious       publication covering the research but found nothing but articles about       groups of *us* setting up to observe *them*.              --       "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.       Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."       - Marie Curie              Mysterious lights spotted `all over San Diego' as dozens of residents       speculate UFOs are hovering over the Pacific Ocean       The Sun, 28 Jun 2022 12:44Z       DRAMATIC footage shows a series of bright lights hovering over San Diego.       The bizarre video shared online on Monday fuelled ...       [Maybe not just SD. We've been seeing nightly displays of big yellow       lights appearing overhead, hovering, moving around, and disappearing       around 6pm-8pm for past few weeks. Quite a few times I've turned       around and seen 2 yellow "stars" at a place only 1 should be only to       realize one of them was drifting along v slowly. One time I turned back       and the 2nd one started moving as well. Normally would not be too       interesting. But someone has worked up some kind of patrol with       several light aircraft and a couple of jets that regularly patrol       around the region, apparently trying to scare the "drones"       off. Earlier this evening saw a dim light over in the E moving N to S.       Might have been a polar sat but for 2nd time in the evening a light       aircraft came screaming in from N aimed directly under where the "sat"       was. I thought the plane might slow down and do something, but it       acted like it wasn't interested and just kept going. The dim little       light didn't seem to react, either. Just back from outside ~midnight       and "CAP" was over to the east apparently flashing lights up into the       sky for some reason].              Investigative filmmaker on Navy UFO encounter: Congress was not shown the truth       Fox News, 28 Jun 2022 14:37Z       Jeremy Corbell, investigative filmmaker, discusses the defense and security       implications of Navy UFO encounter that Congress ...              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
