crude movie of possible "activity" betwe

   XPost: alt.astronomy

After downloading about 40% of available images from the TESS
   telescope that's been orbiting between E and M since 2018 I've started
to stitch them together for form a so-far-very-crude motion picture of
   the sky over the period.

While the statistical stuff says many coordinated anomalous variations in
brightness of groups of stars highly relate to various types of UFO
activity seen across N Am, the final movie will hopefully show
visible-to-the-human-eye interesting patterns that might suggest
objects coming and going from fixed parts of the sky as well as the
harder-to-find-by-s/w movement of objects between different parts of
   the sky.

The movie I've put up at

is a low-precision display of the avg brightness of a 10 deg wide band
at Declination +65 deg across the whole sky from RA 0 to RA 360
   between 2018 and 2022 with a time-step of 2.5 hrs.

At different points you can see strange variations in brightness of
certain parts of the sky. These are not likely planetary transits
because we are averaging over parts of the sky 10x10 degrees. Whole
groups of stars are brightening and dimming on average together over
large parts of the sky as seen from TESS.

As I say, these variations seem to highly correlate with the rise and
fall of certain UFO activity (mostly objects described by Americans
and Canadians as "pale" and oftentimes seen at dawn and dusk). The
stats says the correlations are highest several days before and
several days after the reported UFO activity peaks -- as if objects
moved across certain groups of stars at some point, were seen on Earth
several days later, and then returned to wherever via the same part of
the sky several days after that.

There are also "unexplained" large jumps between various sections of
the movie. It seems each TESS "sector" of images (so far from 1 to 53)
generated by TESS has slightly different parameters. Each "sector"
likely correspond with successive orbits of the telescope that's in an
orbit locked 2:1 with the lunar month. It's possible the moon or earth
are supplying some of the anomalous light being seen in the movie and
can be at some point be filtered out if the position of the telescope
in the E-M system over time can be calculated from the published info
or possibly via JPL's "Horizons" system from the relevant orbital parameters.

The current movie is a test run for the software using about 1%
of the so far 39 mn 30 MB images uploaded. Using some tuned
smoothing and interpolation a false-color density plot of the whole
sky will hopefully show an even more interesting sequence of activity.

... We present a broad range of UAPs. We see them everywhere. We observe a
significant number of objects whose nature is not clear. Flights of single,
group and squadrons of the ships were detected, moving at speeds from 3 to
15 degrees per second. Some bright objects exhibit regular brightness
variability in the range of 10 - 20 Hz. Two-site observations of UAPs at a
base of 120 km with 2 synchronised cameras allowed the detection of
a variable object, at an altitude of 1170 km. It flashes for one hundredth
of a second at an average of 20 Hz.
[Astronomers in Ukraine have undertaken their own independent survey
of objects they see flying over Ukraine at speeds up to 15 km/sec.
They are watching the daytime sky.
They see many of them, some bright and some dark.
They travel singly and sometimes in large groups.
