   Unfortunately.
Seemingly each country examined shows the same sort of pattern.
Certain types of missing persons seem to be "preferred" by
   certain types of "phenomena".
E.g. the FBI has a category of "unidentified" that includes
body parts and people picked up with total amnesia. Pattern.
People classified as "apparently left involuntarility". Pattern.
   Missing disabled people. Pattern.
   Missing women. Pattern.
Australia has a list of long-term missing people. Some havent been
heard from for 50+ years. Similar pattern.
   Europe. Similar pattern.
   UK. Similar pattern.
There are various self-help groups trying to location long-term
missing people. The groups whose data I've checked -- similar pattern.

For people on TPG you'll be happy to note those regions of the US with
lager household ownership of firearms and/or larger numbers of Army
bases (AF and Navy dont seem to matter) there is a distinct decrease
   in the pattern.

It also seems missing people are not going missing as often
   maybe starting ~2005.

We have to assume "the government" knows all this in some sense but
likely for reasons of keeping the status quo going the public dont.

An archive of numerical musings in learning order
(i.e. the earlier ones started with my total ignorance of everything --
the fastest way to learn anything -- so maybe simplisticated or
   be later superceded) lives at
