From: skybuckflying@gmail.com              Hello,              Thank you for your story, I also spent some time outside on the balkony to       watch stuff (in the cold and warmth), currently there is a little mouse in       between the garbage lol, my appartment at 5 levels high ! =D              Let me know what you think I should do witht he mouse/rodent, it seems to be a       cute one, a busy one, and a very respectfull one, he has not yet entered my       appertment via the balcony door, nor has he made a mess out of things. Perhaps       this little create        deserves a better faith than hungry or death. I was hoping he would die at       first or I would throw him over the balcony, but that is a little bit too       harsh for this nice little cut brown mouse, wow, tom en jerry... little field       mouse, so now my plan is        maybe to catch him once I clean up the garbage, but where to go with this       little intruder ? Maybe on the streets, there is some green there. Maybe he       will come back. Maybe he wants to be my pet. Maybe he is deaf, he doesn't seem       bothered when I shine my        flash light at him in the night, he just goes on minding his own buzy       bussiness, making strange little garbage noises/rattling, hehe he be offensive       if I would call it RATtling LOL.              Anyway, I am not much of a pet owner... gjez... I can barely deal with a       mouse, let alone an entire mothershop full of aliens that want to come life       here ! LOL. Allegedly a few motherships were filmed as they passed and flew       over the moon on broad        daylight.              Anyway, your posting seemed sincery enough I will try and answer your       question, but don't expect to much, currently after this posting I will upload       some OpenXcom branch called NachaZ with some of his modifications/improvements       to OpenXCom and then I        will probably play it some to test it out and then upload it... and then maybe       very later I might return to UFO Alert Tool prototype development/research.              > What I am getting at is for you to outline your project before you post        > details of the algorithms you have chosen.               I did write about it before... try google maybe that will help you find more       information about it, but indeed maybe I should make a website about it, to       mention what it is about, this is a good idea ! ;)              > What are you trying to do?               Make it possible for people to alert each other in real time as quickly as       possible if they have a sighting/an encounter/a landing/maybe even an       abduction ! ;) =D              > Is it like MADAR?               I am not sure what MADAR is, but I suspect it's a bunch of sites around the       world trying to detect UFOs with our technology. This is a flawed idea maybe.              My idea is better to rely on human eyes and human sensors to detect UFOs. This       is because the human eye and human sensors are superior to any technology.              The aliens may have been around on this planet, following our technology, they       may have counter-technology to counter our technology.              Such technology already exists, see the stealth bomber and the b2 bomber and       the recently launched b21 bomber.              Radar absorbing skins/hulls. Plus there is rumor of electro gravity like       fields masking the heat output of these planes down further.              There is also talk of special fields around UFOs that might make it hard or       impossible to detect with technology.              Technology also has it's limitations and is expensive, costs money to maintain       and operate, is prone to failure and down time.              While the human being is maintained well enough for every day operation. Bare       the drunks hehe.              Granted sometimes technology can see better than the human eye, like       zoom-cameras, but even these are still hard to operate.              Photographs and videos of UFOs are not very convincing for most people.              Seeing it with your own eyes helps a lot to be convinced that something       strange might be going on.              Best case scenerio is to overrun a LANDED UFO and capture it by a FLASH MOB of       people ! That be great/fantastic ! While it lasts ofcourse, it would probably       be confiscated by the governments army soon enough.               > Why are you trying to do it the way you have chosen?               1. Maximum application/protocol speed.              2. Maximum readability/maintainability of source code/pascal code, can last       forever as long as humanity knows english.              3. Maximum compile/build speed of fastest compiler in the world: Delphi.              4. Near Maximum security of language: Pascal & Delphi have a pretty good track       record of producing safe software while C/C++ has not.              5. Convincing people through their own observations.              > Why are the other projects not any good for you to use?               1. There are few, maybe just one, I have seen one UFO app on mobile, but it       costs 1 dollar and it requires a mobile phone.              Those projects can probably be nuked, disabled, denial of service attacked, I       suspect they might end soon, plus perhaps they are too slow.              I haven't really tried this one out. Will it update/push notifications to       mobile users or will it buckle under the load.              My/The application must be able to service to entire world without breaking a       sweat, centralized points of failures must be minimized or even illiminated.              > How far have you got?               I have done a lot of research into what technologies, algorithms, protocols       are available to create this. Collected lots of links and documents.              I have a pretty good idea how to create it however I run into some       snags/limitations:              Visualization issues:       1. The GPU of this Toshiba Laptop melted/broke from all the gaming/World of       Warships, this makes it a bit more difficult to do the graphics, it's mostly       slowed down.       However in a way it's kind of a good thing, makes me focus more on getting the       algorithm/visualization working well. GLScene library for OpenGL might be too       limited, 32 bit floating points, Earth is big/huge and might require 64 bit       floating point        software or strange scale fields.              Global/Spherical/Ellipsoid issues:       2. The math to visualize and compute distances across earth is more complex       than I thought, it requires some pretty heavy math, which might have to be       applied per pixel.       This may require something like an OpenGL shader or even better CUDA to       compute it, or maybe SIMD, it will probably require 64 bit computations to       have decent accuracy.              3. Data issues:       Textures of earth of high enough quality could take many many many gigabytes.               [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
