   believe you   
   Current and former government employees, service members and contractors who   
   come forward would be protected by the Whistleblower Protection Act.

   If you worked for a clandestine government project on Unidentified   
   Anomalous Phenomena -- formerly known as UFOs -- then the Defense   
   Department's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, or AARO, is giving you   
   a chance to come forward.   
   Sean Kirkpatrick, director of AARO, said that his organization's website   
   now features a form for current and former government employees, service   
   members, and contractors with direct knowledge of alleged U.S. government   
   programs or a ctivities dealing with UAPs going back to 1945 to report what   
   they know.   
      
   [With logic similar to stuff you see on conspiricy or science denial websites,   
   the Pentagon seems to be playing a disingenuous game.   
   They have publicised a website they expect only cranks and liars will use.   
   Any significant number of reports they git will "prove" to Congress there   
   is nothing to see here.   
   At a press conf Kirkpatrick said the number of reports the Pentagon   
   gets from people who claim first-hand knowledge of secret programs   
   will indicate how likely it is such programs existed.   
   If the number of reports is huge it will mean there likely are no such   
   programs because a lot of people should not have known about them.   
   If only a few or maybe no-one uses the website report form it may   
   indicate such programs were real.   
   Of course if a moderate number of reports come in it may mean the   
   programs are real alright many people don't know what "firsthand knowledge"   
   means despite the term being outlined on the relevant web page.   
   Kirkpatrick said he had no evidence so far any secret reverse-engineering   
   ever happened.  He doesn't accept that sworn testimony from insiders up to   
   now is evidence].
