   A friend and I hiked up Ajo and like this guy it was dark when we got to   
   Bull Pasture. We did not have lights. I don't know about Spanish deserts   
   but Arizona deserts have a lot of vegetation you don't want to walk into   
   to say nothing of random rattlesnakes.   
      
   The mountain and the town north of it supposedly were named after the wild   
   garlic that grows in the area. Like much of the desert vegetation it needs   
   a wet winter to appear in the spring.
