XPost: talk.politics.guns, alt.politics.republicans, sac.politics       XPost: memphis.general       From: democrats@caused.it              MEMPHIS, Tenn. - New details have emerged in the death of a Church's Chicken       employee who was shot and killed earlier this month after an argument with a       customer, records show.              Monica Williams was charged with first-degree murder and booked into the       Shelby County jail Monday, records show. No bond had been set for the 45-       year-old woman.              Williams is accused of shooting and killing Anitra West on the night of       Monday, July 8 after a food order dispute, records show.              The shooting happened just after 9 p.m. that day at the Church's Chicken on       Park Avenue between Haynes and Semmes streets in Orange Mound.                     Williams had been on the run for a week before she was taken into custody       Monday. Records show that Williams' vehicle, believed to have been used in       the shooting, was found at her friend's home the day after the shooting.              Court documents obtained by FOX13 allege that it all started after Williams       pulled up to the fast food restaurant's drive-thru window and got into an       argument with West over "not paying for the food."              West then went outside to "get some air," records show.              One of West's co-workers told investigators that she heard "a loud gunshot"       and saw a vehicle speeding off the parking lot. The co-worker went outside       to find West bleeding from her head, records show.                     The Church's Chicken employee was in critical condition when she was rushed       to a hospital, where she later died, Memphis Police (MPD) previously said.              Court records allege that West was on the phone with a friend when the       shooting took place. The friend told investigators that she heard the       argument between West and a customer at the drive-thru window, adding that       she heard the customer yelling, "I will kill you!"              When she went outside, West told her friend on the phone that "this same       girl with the purple hair I just got into it with just pulled back up on the       parking lot," court documents allege.              The friend told investigators that she heard a gunshot and "nothing else       until she heard other employees' voices she was familiar with calling       Anitra's name."              MPD investigators obtained surveillance footage showing a teal compact SUV       pulling up to the fast food restaurant. The driver, who was described to       have purple hair, walked outside of her vehicle and got into an argument at       the drive-thru window before the vehicle sped off, records show.                     Police later issued an alert for the vehicle and released images of the       woman wanted in the shooting.              A woman told investigators that she was with Williams when Williams got into       an argument at Church's Chicken. The woman was in the passenger seat of the       vehicle, while her 10-year-old son was in the backseat, records show.              The woman told investigators that Williams had asked her if she and her son       were hungry. The three went to a Church's Chicken about a mile away from       their home around 8:30 p.m. "because they had coupons ... and decided to       drive through and pick up food."              An argument ensued between Williams and the Church's Chicken employee,       records show. Williams' friend told investigators that it started after       Williams "told the employee they had two orders and the employee seemed to       become upset."              Both women, court records allege, decided to not pay for the order. The       woman with Williams told investigators that it was because the situation       "had become so tense."              Williams pulled up to the drive-thru window and told the employee that "they       no longer wanted the order," records show. Williams drove her friend and son       home before Williams told her friend that she would leave again to "go get       some chips to go with their dinner."              The friend told investigators that Williams didn't return until sometime       between 11 p.m. and midnight that evening. Williams packed an overnight bag       and left her vehicle — a Mazda CX-9 — parked in her friend's driveway,       records show.              The friend told investigators that she "did not pay it any mind, because       Monica has been seeing someone and leaving with them in the evenings." She       called police the following morning after she saw news reports about the       Church's Chicken shooting.              https://www.fox13memphis.com/news/i-will-kill-you-court-documents-detail-       deadly-confrontation-between-churchs-chicken-customer-and-       employee/article_2ee0de28-4356-11ef-bfaf-4f32b8b5bdf0.html              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
