XPost: talk.politics.guns, alt.politics.republicans, sac.politics       XPost: memphis.general       From: democrats@caused.it              MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A couple is now recovering after police say they were       allegedly attacked and robbed before the girlfriend was raped at gunpoint       Monday night in Oakhaven.              A woman told officers it started when she was sitting in a car with her       boyfriend around 11:30 p.m. and there was a knock on the window. She thought       maybe it was a security guard because they were in a school park after       hours.              But the man, now identified as 41-year-old Corry Rayford, wasn’t a security       guard.              The woman says he told them, “Give me what you got.” So the couple handed       over $600. But that wasn’t enough for Rayford.              She says he became angry and pulled a gun on them, forcing the boyfriend out       of the car, and telling him to get on his knees and face the opposite       direction.              The woman says Rayford then raped her at gunpoint.              The couple claims Rayford then told them if they followed him out of the       park he would kill both of them.              The next day, the woman spotted Rayford in the neighborhood while driving so       she followed him and called the police who were able to make an arrest.              Rayford has been arrested multiple times in the past but his latest charges       appear to be the most violent.              In 2006, records show he resisted arrest and struggled with officers,       forcing them to use a chemical agent on him. In that case, he was also found       to be in unlawful possession of a gun.              WREG talked to multiple people in the neighborhood who said sadly they’re       not shocked by the latest vicious attack. They’re calling for more city-       provided lighting and cameras in the area.              As for Rayford, he’s charged with aggravated rape, two counts of aggravated       robbery, and two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping. He is in jail       on a $200,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday morning.              http://wreg.com/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
