(TND) — Georgia police on Wednesday arrested a man who       fought with a Chick-fil-A worker for several minutes after allegedly trying       to rob the store.              Tommie Lee Williams last month smashed through the Stone Mountain, Georgia       restaurant’s drive-thru window with a rock before entering the kitchen,       according to a report by the Gwinnett County Police Department. Officers say       he then encountered a delivery driver.              The worker claimed Williams pointed a gun at him and threatened to kill him       if he didn’t open the safe, police said. The delivery driver, not knowing       the combination to the safe, decided to fight Williams instead, according to       officers.              Surveillance footage shows the worker lunged at Williams and engaged in a       fight for more than two and a half minutes. Williams first pushed the driver       onto the ground before he stood back up and wrestled the attempted robber.              After Williams’s gun fell to the ground, the two began kicking and tried to       restrain each other’s arms, according to the footage.              Williams later started to grab his things that fell to the floor, including       the gun, when the worker pushed him into another room. The attempted robber       eventually fled through a back door, police said.              Detectives later found the vehicle they believed Williams used to get to the       restaurant and eventually identified Williams as their suspect, according to       the police department. The agency added that investigators had asked for       warrants for armed robbery, aggravated assault, kidnapping and second-degree       burglary, among other charges.              On Tuesday, Gwinnett County police arrested five people who allegedly stole       materials from a construction site in Dacula. Officers seized more than 100       grams of meth during the investigation and charged suspects with felony       theft and drug crimes.              https://komonews.com/news/nation-world/chick-fil-a-worker-fights-off-armed-       attempted-robber-in-georgia-police-say-gwinnett-county-stone-mountain-       atlanta-tommie-lee-williams-crime-safety#              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
