XPost: alt.fan.rush-limbaugh, memphis.general, talk.politics.guns       XPost: sac.politics, rec.arts.tv       From: fire@biden.now              MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A new business in the Oakhaven area is picking up the       pieces after an overnight smash-and-grab.              The grand opening sign still sits in the window outside the Getwell Liquor and       Wine store on Getwell Road. But that did not stop criminals from making the       business one of the latest targets just after midnight.              Isaac Jimerson says he works near the liquor store and was their first       customer.              “They were able to give us a nice little deal,” Jimerson said. “They       good people.”              Employees say the business opened on August 9 and less than a week later they       have to replace glass outside and inside the store.              They say they expected this to happen, but not this soon.              “It shows somebody can’t just enjoy the simple things for just a short       amount of time. I mean. It shows so much corruption. I mean no one cares       anymore,” Jimerson said.              Memphis police say five suspects wearing face masks smashed their car through       the front windows and two of the suspects had sledgehammers. The suspects were       in two vehicles; a gray sedan, and a white SUV.              According to employees, the thieves were able to grab liquor and five days       worth of cash from the cash register and leave behind a lot of damage.              “It just breaks your heart to see this,” Jimerson said.              This is an ongoing investigation. One thing that may be able to help Memphis       Police is that the business had plenty of cameras everywhere.              Despite the incident, Getwell Liquor and Wine is still open for business.              If you have any information that could help police, call CrimeStoppers at       901-528-CASH.              https://wreg.com/news/local/smash-and-grab-thieves-burglarize-ne       -liquor-store-on-getwell/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
