XPost: alt.fan.rush-limbaugh, stl.general, talk.politics.guns       XPost: sac.politics, rec.arts.tv       From: fire@biden.now              ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A woman was shot and killed in an       officer-involved shooting in south St. Louis Friday.              According to St. Louis Police, the shooting took place Friday morning at W.       Iowa Avenue and Gasconade Street in the Dutchtown neighborhood. Police say an       armed woman was shot and killed but no officers were injured.              A spokesperson for the department said license plate readers located a vehicle       wanted for a shooting from earlier Friday morning in Bellefontaine Neighbors.       Officers tried to stop the car but it fled, the spokesperson said.              “Real time crime center is able to track a vehicle across the city as it’s       hitting those license plate readers,” Mitch McCoy, SLMPD’s director of       public affairs and information, said. “It’s an incredible resource when it       comes to        investigating crime. It’s an incredible public safety resource for us when       there’s a person who is dangerous and a vehicle that is potentially being       driven by a dangerous person so we can bring them into custody.”              Officers later found the car parked at West Iowa and Gasconade. They saw a       woman walking away from the car with a gun, police said. Officers gave her       commands, but police claim she did not comply. Two officers shot at her and       hit her.              Then, according to the SLMPD spokesperson, the woman placed the gun to her       chin and shot herself. First responders attempted first aid, but the woman       died at the scene.              SLMPD’s Force Investigation Unit is investigating the incident. First Alert       4 requested dash camera and body camera video related to the police response.              First Alert 4 will update this story once new information has been released.              https://www.firstalert4.com/2024/08/16/officer-involved-shooting       south-st-louis/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
