   A man has been sentenced to more than 26 years in prison in Hennepin County   
   court for raping a 9-year-old girl.   
      
   On Wednesday, Azzel Mickey Lee Foster, 31, was sentenced to 320 months in   
   prison. A jury found Foster guilty of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct in   
   March.   
      
   Between December 2021 and January 2022, Foster raped a 9-year-old girl   
   multiple times at her home in Minneapolis, according to the criminal complaint.   
      
   The girl's older brother told police he witnessed some of Foster's abuse in   
   the girl's bedroom, and says he was also subjected to sexual touching by the   
   31-year-old.   
      
   Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty had recommended a maximum sentence of   
   30 years, more than sentencing guidelines. As part of his sentencing, Foster   
   will also have to register as a predatory offender for the rest of his life.   
      
   “Mr. Foster has now been convicted multiple times of criminal sexual conduct   
   and inflicted horrific abuse on this little girl,” Moriarty said in a   
   statement.   
      
   "My heart breaks for this child and her family. I’m hopeful they can one day   
   find peace and healing.”   
      
   Foster had previously been convicted of 2nd-degree criminal sexual conduct in   
   2017 in Otter Tail County. He was sentenced to 90 months in prison for that   
   offense.
