   CHICAGO (WLS) -- At least 22 people have been shot, three fatally, in   
   shootings across Chicago so far this weekend, police said.

   A man was found fatally shot in the head on Chicago's South Side early Sunday   
   morning, police said.   
      
   Police said the shooting happened in Roseland in the 11500-block of South   
   LaSalle Street just before 1 a.m.   
      
   Officers responded to a call about a person shot and found a 38-year-old man   
   on the ground. He had suffered a gunshot wound to his head.   
      
   The victim was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.   
      
   A witness told officers that a red two-door vehicle fled the scene.   
      
   No one is in custody and Area Two detectives are investigating.   
      
   Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.   
      
   Minutes later, two men were shot, one fatally on the city's West Side, Chicago   
   police said.   
      
   Police said the shooting happened in the West Garfield Park neighborhood's   
   4600-block of West Monroe Street just after 1:30 a.m.   
      
   Officers responded to a call about a person shot and found a 25-year-old man   
   who had suffered a gunshot wound to his back. He was pronounced dead on the   
   scene.   
      
   Police said a 34-year-old man was also struck by gunfire. He was taken to   
   Mount Sinai Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.   
      
   Further investigation revealed that an unidentified male suspect shot the   
   victims before fleeing the scene on foot, police said.   
      
   There is no one in custody and Area Four detectives are investigating.   
      
   Two people were shot on the city's South Side in a SWAT situation on Sunday,   
   according to Chicago police.   
      
   A man was shot in the 10500-block of Cottage Grove Avenue around 2:13 a.m.   
      
   Chicago police said the man took himself to the hospital. At last check, he   
   was in critical condition.   
      
   A second shooting victim was taken to the hospital with a graze wound. Police   
   said they are expected to be OK.   
      
   As of 9 a.m. Chicago police said the SWAT situation ended "without incident."

   A South Side neighborhood is on edge after shots rang out Saturday evening,   
   leaving a woman dead and a man critically injured.   
      
   The violence erupted around 5:20 p.m. in Chicago's Avalon Park neighborhood in   
   the 1600-block of East 87th Street.   
      
   A woman was driving with a 21-year-old man and two children inside.   
      
   Both adults were shot in the head and rushed to the hospital, where the woman   
   was later pronounced dead.   
      
   The Chicago Fire Department said the children were treated at the scene and   
   were not transported to hospitals

   One mother says she has been a Concealed-Cary License holder for years, but   
   never had to fire her gun until, she said, danger came through her daughter's   
   bedroom window on Saturday night.   
      
   Even if their broken outside windscreen is fixed, the trauma for one family   
   has already seeped inside of their South Shore apartment.   
      
   "That motherly instincts kick in, so as soon as something happens, it's like   
   fight or flight," the mother said.   
      
   The mother, who asked ABC7 to conceal her and her family's identities, said it   
   happened before 11 p.m.   
      
   That is when her 18-year-old daughter had just returned to her bedroom after   
   bathing.   
      
   "So, I put the towel on, and I run out my room and I ran right there. I'm   
   like, 'Yo, somebody's trying to come through my window.' So, my mom   
   immediately acted on it," the daughter said.   
      
   "He was, like, hanging on her window. I just told him that, 'I have a gun. I'm   
   going to shoot.' And he just didn't stop. I fired a warning shot. I didn't   
   even know that he got hit," the mother said.   
      
   That is, until police arrived on East 69th near Oglesby, where they found the   
   36-year-old suspect shot in the leg. He was taken to the hospital in fair   
   condition.
