   A man who has been under intensive supervision since November following   
   release from prison for prior convictions including a violent rape and a   
   separate violent assault is back in custody.   
      
   Abdirahman Hussein Farah was convicted in 2010 on second-degree criminal   
   sexual conduct involving injury to a mentally impaired person for a brutal   
   sexual assault of a Mankato woman in August 2009. The conviction was the   
   result of a plea bargain that    
   kept the victim from having to testify at a trial, according to a report.   
      
   Farah was sentenced to 90 months on the conviction at which time nine other   
   felony charges involving criminal sexual conduct, assault and false   
   imprisonment were dismissed. The prosecutor in the case, Chris Rovney,   
   assistant Blue Earth County attorney    
   said at the time he had hoped for a more serious sentence at trial, but made   
   the plea agreement which saved the victim from testifying and said, “Farah   
   needs to be in prison,” the report said.   
      
   Farah also pleaded guilty at the time to first-degree assault for seriously   
   injuring another inmate in Blue Earth County Jail in October 2009.   
      
   Farah spent about six years incarcerated on the two convictions and was   
   convicted again in 2017 for failure to comply with predatory offender   
   registration requirements and was re-incarcerated.   
      
   Farah has been on intensive supervised release since November 2018, and was   
   taken into custody by Hennepin County Sheriff’s deputies and booked into   
   Hennepin County Jail (HCJ) on June 24 on an unknown violation and is being   
   held without bail and no    
   court date is listed. Farah was also arrested for an unspecified reason in   
   January according to a post on Downtown Minneapolis Crime Watch.   
      
   Farah listed his address of residence on the 900 block of East 25th Street in   
   south Minneapolis at the time of the most recent booking at HCJ. The nature of   
   the hold and the listed address of residence were not able to be confirmed   
   through the Minnesota    
   Department of Corrections, as the department does not consider that public   
   information.
