   Harnett man accused of kidnapping, forcing teen into sex slavery   
      
   A Lillington man was arrested Saturday on accusations of kidnapping and   
   forcing a teenage girl into sexual servitude earlier this year.   
      
   Charles Norman Jr., 38, is charged with first-degree kidnapping and two counts   
   each of second-degree forcible rape and second-degree forced sex offense with   
   a girl who was at least 16 on Jan. 13. An order for his arrest was issued in   
   May.   
      
   Norman was held at the Harnett County Detention Center Monday under a $500,000   
   secured bond.   
      
   An arrest warrant accuses Norman of subjecting the girl to “sexual   
   servitude” and sexual abuse while holding her against her will on Jan. 13.   
      
   He filed an affidavit of indigency, claiming $2,350 in monthly expenses with   
   no income. The court appointed attorney Jesse Jones to represent him.   
      
   Norman has a history of past convictions, including possessing a weapon on   
   campus and aiding a minor with a weapon on campus when he was 16. He was   
   convicted of felony break-ins and larcenies when he was 18 and 23, according   
   to his public offender    
   information on the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections website. His   
   last conviction was for misdemeanor child abuse in 2018.   
      
   Norman’s next court appearance is set for July 30.
