   ATLANTA — A man will spend the rest of his life in prison for raping a   
   7-year-old girl he was supposed to be babysitting.   
      
   According to the Fulton County District Attorney's Office, a jury found   
   Charles Harris, 66, guilty of rape, child molestation and false imprisonment   
   after only 25 minutes of deliberations.   
      
   Harris, according to the D.A., regularly babysat the 7-year-old victim and her   
   5-year-old sister between Dec. 1, 2015 and March 9, 2016 while their mother   
   worked an overnight shift. Harris, officials said, was a close family friend   
   of the mother and her    
   girls, who often referred to him as "Uncle" or "Pops."   
      
   However, officials said Harris abused that trust and repeatedly raped the   
   7-year-old victim, starting on April 20, 2016. Officials said Harris would go   
   into the little girls room at night and would touch the victim. The victim   
   recounted several of the    
   incidents with "graphic details."   
      
   “She would pray that he would stop," according to the Assistant D.A.   
   Shaniqua Christian. "She would cry silently because she didn’t want to wake   
   her sister (who was in the same room). She was concerned Harris might rape her   
   sister too.”   
      
   Officials said Harris pleaded guilty in 1998 to a child molestation charge in   
   Cobb County in a very similar case. On Tuesday, a jury found him guilty again,   
   and a judge ruled he would spend the rest of his life in jail, without the   
   possibility of parole.
