Pittsylvania County       sheriff’s deputies recovered a pair of red shorts the girl was wearing the       day of the incident.              Pittsylvania County Commonwealth’s Attorney Bryan Haskins said in his       opening statement the shorts worn during the “traumatic” and “painful”       act were unwashed.              “The possibility of contamination is extremely high” due to the residence       they lived in being unkempt, Thornhill said.              DNA was found on the shorts that didn’t belong to the girl. “Shaun       Morrison cannot be eliminated” as a person who contributed to the DNA,       according to a forensic expert.              It was a 7 billion chance the DNA did not belong to Morrison, Haskins said.              He is scheduled to be formally sentenced in February.              Michael Livingston reports for the Danville Register & Bee.
