(KFOX14/CBS4) — A Las Cruces man was arrested and accused       of beating and raping a woman in early October.              Officers arrested 43-year-oldAli Jawad Al-Abyad.              According to the statement of facts, Al-Abyad was with the victim at her       apartment helping her move.              Al-Abyad and the woman got into a verbal argument according to the document.              The woman saidAl-Abyad had strangled her and beat her with a metal pipe and       his fists. She also said he had bent her over and raped her, according to the       document.              The woman gaveAl-Abyad a debit card without money and asked him to go buy baby       formula. When he left, she grabbed her baby and asked her property manager to       give a her ride to her grandma's house.              The doctor who treated the woman at the hospital told officers that she would       fall asleep while speaking and had difficulty staying awake.              The woman told officers thatAl-Abyad was her child's father.              She also told investigators that he locked her up in a room and told her if       she tried to leave he would kill her, the document stated.              She said she was holding the baby whenAl-Abyad punched her with a closed fist       and that he punched the baby in the head, according to the statement of facts.              The document stated he had several bruises all over her body.              Al-Abyad is charged with aggravated battery against a household member,       strangulation, criminal sexual penetration, abuse of a child, criminal       tresspass, contempt of court, embezzlement of a vehicle, and failure to appear.              https://kfoxtv.com/news/local/las-cruces-man-arrested-accused-of       beating-and-raping-woman-during-move-ali-jawad-al-abyad              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
