An officer was sent to       investigate, but when they got there, the suspect had already left the       scene.              After speaking to the reporting party, the officer found that the suspect       had tried to make a purchase with a suspected counterfeit $100 bill.              While the officer was still at the scene of the first business,       dispatchers told the officer about another report of someone trying to use       suspected counterfeit money at another business two blocks east.              By the time the police officer reached the second business, the suspect       had already left, again.              Staff members at the second business were able to get a photo of the       suspect using surveillance footage.              Minutes after 7:30 p.m., dispatchers sent the officer to the first       business after another report of counterfeiting. This time, the reporting       party gave police a description of the suspect and the vehicle the suspect       occupied, a white SUV.              As the officer arrived at the scene, they saw a white SUV leaving the       business, so they pulled the vehicle over.              The reporting party identified one of the five men in the SUV as the       suspect who tried to use the counterfeit cash the second time.              "I identified that male as Quenton Dishman," the responding officer wrote       in the court document. "It should be noted, I believe Dishman was working       in concert with four other individuals identified as: One suspect was in       possession of twenty-five counterfeit $100 bills; one suspect was in       possession of one counterfeit $100 bill; and one suspect attempted to pass       counterfeit money during the first incident."              The arresting officer requested a high bond from the court for Dishman,       citing his last known address - in Chicago, Dishman's violent criminal       history, and an outstanding warrant for forgery out of Nebraska. Dishman       faces one charge of forgery. His bond was set at $50,000, cash only.              Among the other men in the SUV, a Champaign, Illinois man, Nigel Lee,       faces the same forgery charge. While he was being booked, Lee tried to       dispose of $2,500 worth of counterfeit cash. The bills were consistent       with the one located in the SUV.              "A review of Lee's criminal history revealed two cases out of Iowa       involving forgery and counterfeiting, five cases out of Illinois involving       forgery and counterfeiting, and two cases out of Wisconsin involving       forgery and counterfeiting," court records said.              Lee's bond was set at $50,000.              The man driving the SUV, Shaquille Godfrey of Des Moines, Iowa, also faces       a single count of forgery.              According to court records, police found a counterfeit $100 bill in his       seat when they searched the vehicle, with Godfrey's consent.              Police requested that Godfrey's bond also be a large number, citing       Godfrey's extensive criminal history and probation violations. Godfrey's       bond was also set at $50,000.              An East St. Louis man, Gareian Murphy, faces the same charge for the same       incident. According to court records, Murphy was the suspect who tried to       use counterfeit cash around 4:30 p.m. at the first business.              Police requested that Murphy's bond also be a large number, citing an       extensive criminal history. It was set at $50,000.              https://www.ksdk.com/article/news/local/chicago-man-tries-to-use-       counterfeit-100-in-missouri-police-say-st-louis-area-nebraska/63-cd785e07-       9d63-46e2-b12e-65ca2db93ae9              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
