Police       found out moments earlier that the suspect had broken into a person's home and       sexually assaulted a        young woman.              Sean Leon Lacy, Jr. is facing kidnapping, rape, sodomy, unlawful penetration       and burglary charges.              One woman on the 122nd Avenue MAX platform said she sees Lacy on the train       frequently and always got a creepy vibe from him. She says she talked to the       suspect Sunday afternoon when she noticed him following her off the MAX. When       she confronted him, she        said he tried to get her number and then tried to find out where she lived.              "I was like no, and he was really persistent about going where I was going,"       said Soller. "Hairs on my neck were sticking up cuz he was kind of weird,       creeping me out."              When Delisa Peterson saw Lacy's mug shot, her reaction was the same. She says       he also tried to get too personal with her.              "He's definitely tried to get my phone number at least twice," she said.       "There's definitely something off about him that I've tried to stay clear.       It's just that gut feeling."              Lacy was arrested earlier this year following a standoff situation in       Greshamon charges of assault, strangulation, burglary and meth possession.       Those charges were dismissed, but he has other prior charges for criminal       trespassing, robbery, assault,        harassment and theft for which he was convicted.              Soller and Peterson followed their instincts.              "I have a pretty good feeling with most people and really glad I never spoke       to him or gave him my number," said Peterson.              "It explains kind of why he was so persistent about going with me wherever I       was going or wanting me to go with him somewhere," said Soller.              From Portland Police:              Anyone with information about Lacy is asked to contact Detective Jason       Christensen at 503-823-0894, jchristensen@portlandoregon.gov.              Stranger-to-stranger sexual assaults fortunately are a rare occurrence.              The Portland Police Bureau collaborates with government agencies and community       organizations that provide access to advocacy services to victims of sexual       assaults.              A victim may be accompanied by a sexual assault advocate or other appropriate       support person during the reporting process and/or criminal investigation.              Multnomah County Victims' Assistance Program: Provides support during the       reporting of sexual assaults and referrals to victim services and resources:       503-988-3270.              Call to Safety (formerly the Portland Women's Crisis Line): Provides access to       advocacy services, including confidential peer support, information and       referrals to community resources. 24 hour crisis line: 503-235-5333,       1-888-235-5333, or https://       calltosafety.org/              Project UNICA (Proyecto UNICA): Provides access to advocacy services for       Spanish-speaking survivors of domestic and sexual violence. 24 hour crisis       line: 503-232-4448, or 1-888-232-4448.              Additionally, the Portland Police Bureau Strength programs provide free       self-defense classes and personal safety workshops to people around the       Portland area.                     [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
