XPost: talk.politics.guns, oh.general, talk.politics.misc       XPost: alt.abortion, sac.politics       From: first.time.rape@death.penalty              https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT9oBzodUk6       EqbzKtMhs70rkt2Q1arSBSHvmWZcBAG9qEHwKA4_C35JDN7j37KtvM0R2M&usqp=CAU              CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) -The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is once again       coming under fire after a wanted felon escaped custody.              This time, a prisoner escaped from a hospital and the public was never       notified.              For months, we’ve been reporting how the SCSO has failed to issue alerts       when inmates escape.              Now, SCSO claims they never had custody of the prisoner to begin with ― but       that’s not the case according to other law enforcement agencies.              Anntonette Henderson, 34, was recently indicted in both Summit and Cuyahoga       counties for felonies, including receiving stolen property and theft.              Warrants were issued in both counties for her arrest.              Last Tuesday, University Heights police say they arrested Henderson for       stealing merchandise at a Target.              Officers then learned she had a felony warrant in Summit County, so they       contacted SCSO.              While waiting for a deputy to arrive, Henderson complained about medical       issues.              Officers then transported her to University Hospital’s main campus in       Cleveland.              University Heights Police say that’s when Summit County Sheriff’s Deputy       Anthony Pacheco arrived to take custody of Henderson.              Officers say Pacheco arrived carrying shackles to restrain Henderson.              Since he was alone, hospital police offered to help.              However, they say Pacheco told them, “He was good, and they could go.”              In University Hospital’s police report, an officer writes, “during the       course of moving patient from triage to room, patient fled, going right past       deputy.”              The report states both Cleveland and University Circle police were notified       and helped search the area.              19 Investigates wanted to know why SCSO didn’t notify local law enforcement       ― or the media ― about the escape, since they had custody of Henderson.              They replied by email.              “We did not have custody of Ms. Henderson upon arrival, she remained in       custody of University Hospital,” said SCSO’s Support Services       Administrator Kelly Pongracz.              However, University Hospital police reported, “at no time did they take       custody of the prisoner.”              Now ― a week later ― Henderson remains at large.              And once again, you ― the public ― were never notified.              Sources tell 19 Investigates that Deputy Pacheco was sent directly home after       the incident.              We’ve submitted several public records requests to SCSO and will keep you       posted.              University Heights Police Statement:              University Heights officers were dispatched to Target for a report that       Antonnette Henderson had been detained by their loss prevention officers for       theft.              Henderson was charged by our department with misdemeanor theft.              The warrant she had with Summit County SO was confirmed and arrangements were       made to transfer her to their custody.              Henderson then complained about medical issues and was transferred to       University Hospitals by University Heights rescue squad accompanied by our       officers who maintained custody of her at the hospital until the arrival of       Summit County SO.              Deputy Pacheco with Summit County SO arrived carrying restraint        evices/shackles and contacted our officer in the hospital ED lobby.              Deputy Pacheco was by himself, so our officers requested University Hospitals       police officers respond to the lobby for mutual aid to assist with the custody       transfer.              Multiple UH hospital officers responded to the lobby.              “After their arrival, Deputy Pacheco advised our officers that he was good,       and they could go.”                     [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
