   FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) — Authorities say a Florence man was arrested on   
   Tuesday after an investigation into the reported rape of a minor.   
      
   27-year-old Daprecas Perkins of Florence is charged with first-degree rape   
   following an investigation by the Florence Police Department (FPD).   
      
   On February 10, investigators with FPD began looking into a report of a rape   
   involving a juvenile victim. During the investigation, the department   
   identified Perkins as a suspect.   
      
   FPD says detectives were able to gather additional evidence and information to   
   support issuing a warrant for Perkins’s arrest.   
      
   He was arrested on April 2 and is currently being held in the Lauderdale   
   County Detention Center without bail.
