   A man has been convicted of multiple charges after he kidnapped, carjacked and   
   raped a woman at gunpoint in south Minneapolis.   
      
   Carl Stanley Williams, 38, was convicted on all charges, including two counts   
   of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct, as well as kidnapping and aggravated   
   robbery, after a three-day trial by a Hennepin County jury.   
      
   Williams abducted a woman on Jan. 14, 2022 from a BP gas station on the 2000   
   block of 3rd Avenue S. after she finished putting gas in her car.   
      
   Williams then drove around for about 10 minutes with the gun pointed at the   
   woman's back. He demanded her purse and took her debit card. He eventually   
   pulled over and sexually assaulted the woman at gunpoint, charges say.   
      
   The woman attempted to use a stun gun on Williams, which gave her enough time   
   to escape. A homeowner on the street heard her calls for help and let her   
   inside where she called 911.   
      
   Williams drove away from the area. Police later learned he attempted to   
   carjack others at the same gas station. He was arrested by officers at the   
   scene after he was found "lurking near the gas pumps."   
      
   “This crime strikes at the heart of community fears about safety. The victim   
   was simply putting gas in her car when Mr. Williams attacked her," Hennepin   
   County Attorney Mary Moriarty said in a statement.   
      
   Williams will be sentenced on April 27.
