   A rapist who subjected a woman to a drunken attack when she let him use her   
   bathroom after they shared a taxi has been jailed for 11 years.   
      
   Myles Manyika, 25, from Shelton in Staffordshire, made his victim perform a   
   sex act on him and raped her the following morning.   
      
   Prosecutor Gary Venturi said the woman allowed the defendant to use her   
   bathroom after they got a cab together on May 16, 2015.   
      
   He told Stoke on Trent Crown Court: ‘When she returned from using the   
   lavatory herself he had stripped to his boxer shorts and was on her bed. She   
   was pulled on the bed and her undergarments were removed.   
      
   ‘She said, ”Please stop, I am on my period”. He replied, ”I do not   
   care.”   
      
   The court heard the woman fell asleep but the next morning she asked him to   
   leave but he raped her again.   
      
   Weeks later, on June 28, Manyika and his friend Jonathan Benjamin, 29, also   
   from Shelton, sexually assaulted a woman after a night at The Crystal Lounge,   
   Hanley.   
      
   The court heard the woman screamed and cried during her ordeal but they   
   carried on regardless.   
      
   Both men denied assault by penetration but were convicted after a trial in   
   September and jailed for five years.   
      
   Sentencing Manyika for rape, Judge David Fletcher said: ‘She made it clear   
   on more than one occasion that she did not want it.’   
      
   Richard McConaghy, mitigating for Benjamin, said: ‘He came to this country   
   as a teenager. He got himself a degree and settled in this area where he was   
   working.’   
      
   Manyika will be on the sex offenders’ register for the rest of his life.   
   Details of the earlier the case have been published after he pleaded guilty to   
   rape on the first day of his trial.
