"For the simple fact       that I was letting my little girl go over there. To put that much trust in       someone and not know their background is."              Carter was stopped at 35th and Sheridan for a simple traffic violation, a       broken taillight. Little did he know, that taillight would connect him to the       rape case.              Tulsa Police Officer Emilie Michie is responsible for that stop.              "I mean it's pretty awesome, I had no idea," said Officer Michie. "Until I       spoke to your partner, so we just don't follow through with a lot of those       things. Once they're out of our custody we never know"              Michie said after asking Carter for his name and birth date, she looked up his       record. It showed his warrants out of Ohio.              Carter had been wanted by Columbus police since September of 2015, when his       DNA was linked back to the case from 1997.              Carter was extradited from Tulsa and remains in Columbus police custody. His       case is still under investigation.              "I don't know how they haven't been able to locate him, but I guess people go       under the radar sometimes," said Officer Michie.              https://www.kjrh.com/news/local-news/tulsa-police-make-arrest-in       20-year-old-ohio-rape-case-dna-match-lead-to-arrest              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
