   Two men who raped a vulnerable woman have been jailed, after one of them lured   
   her into his car on the premise he would drive her home.   
      
   Fabrice Mpata, 39, and Rigobert Ngambe, 45, were sentenced at Birmingham Crown   
   Court on 12 April after being found guilty of rape charges last November.   
      
   The court heard that Mpata had encountered the woman, who was lost and did not   
   speak English, in the Winson Green area of Birmingham in August 2022.   
      
   Officers said he convinced the woman to get into his car so he could drive her   
   home, but actually took her to an address to rape her.   
      
   Once she got into the car, Mpata drove her to an address in Bearwood where he   
   took her inside and raped her.   
      
   Afterwards he once again pretended he was going to take her home, at which   
   point she got into his car.   
      
   However, instead of taking her home, he drove her to an address in Newtown   
   where he raped her again, and then she was also raped by Ngambe.   
      
   The pair finally let her leave and she alerted a passer-by who took her to   
   hospital.   
      
   Officers were able to track Mpata and Ngambe after extensive work using DNA   
   evidence.   
      
   When Mpata was interviewed, he admitted to having picked the woman up from the   
   roadside but claimed this was to help her as she was lost and upset, he denied   
   any sexual contact with her at all.   
      
   Ngambe admitted having sex with the woman, but tried to convince officers   
   during interview that it was consensual.   
      
   Both men pled not guilty to the charges.   
      
   Despite this, officers said they were able to show this was false, owing to   
   the woman's inability to speak English, meaning she was not in a position to   
   consent.   
      
   Mpata of Berry Road in Birmingham, was found guilty of two counts of rape and   
   sentenced to 19 years in prison.   
      
   Ngambe, of St Anns Road in Tottenham, London, was found guilty of one count of   
   rape and sentenced to 17 years in prison. Ngambe also had an additional   
   address of Aldgate Grove in Birmingham.   
      
   Both will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
