   HILLSBORO Ore. (KPTV) - A man was sentenced to 25 years in prison on   
   Thursday for the rape of a woman he met on a dating app in 2021.   
      
   Tyrik A. Dawkins and the victim agreed to meet each other in September   
   2021. When they met Dawkins reportedly quickly became aggressive and   
   possessive of the woman. It escalated to Dawkins sexually assaulting her   
   several times at her apartment in Hillsboro. He took her phone, her car   
   keys, and kept her from leaving the apartment over a two-day period,   
   according to court documents.   
      
   He later forced her to drive him to a hotel where he was staying in   
   Portland, and he eventually let her go but threatened to kill her if she   
   reported him to the police.   
      
   Despite these threats, she quickly reported him to Hillsboro police and   
   he was arrested.   
      
   Dawkins will be taken to the Oregon Department of Corrections to serve   
   his sentence.
