Hehe, my primary goal is speed.  Currently, I can run the 100 metres in a
little over 13 seconds (Remember, I'm 51 :) ), but I believe I can get that
time down quite a lot.  However, there is some truth in your question, I have
been known to do a decathlon, and want to do another one next summer.  The
throwing will certainly help my points on some of my weaker events (I'm not a
thrower at all, and 3/10 decathlon events are throws).

This time of year, my focus is on general fitness - strength, power, endurance,
flexibility, while doing enough speed work to maintail my basic skills, without
being overtaxing.  I also have to regularly work on acceleration repition,
because that is the weak part of my race, despite having more power than
average.  So far, repetition is my friend there.

You wouldn't be the first who's asked for my help, or that I've given help to
with their fitness. :)
