The iCOM IC-7300 really is the standard "go-to" for an HF rig now days.  Its
supported by all the software for doing digital modes, has great features, and
sounds great.  

It was my first HF rig, and it's done everything I've wanted it to thus far. 

I can't recommend it enough.
