  As of 2023, if you were first licensed ANY TIME in the year 1998,
or earlier, and are currently licensed, YOU QUALIFY FOR MEMBERSHIP.

  I was first licensed in August, 1991...so, I thought I'd have to
wait until August, 2016 to join. They said "No, any time in 2016,
you can join". So, right after the new year, I filled out my
application, sent in my dues, and that made me a member. I was
able to upgrade to a Life Member shortly thereafter, and while
the cost is not cheap, it's less expensive than what ARRL wants
for their Life Membership.
