 4. Be sure to visit our boards on Pinterest! https://www.pintere t.com/TIASAntiques/ Visit the page for the March Birthstone-Aquamarine or Bloodstone https://www.pinterest.com/TIASAntiques/march-birthstone- aquamarine-or-bloodstone/ Aquamarine is derived from Latin word aqua, meaning water, and marina, meaning the sea. Was believed to protect sailors, as well as to guarantee a safe voyage. The serene color of aquamarine is said to cool the temper, allowing the wearer to remain calm and levelheaded. The 2nd birthstone for March is bloodstone, dark-green jasper flecked with vivid red spots of iron oxide. This ancient stone was used by Babylonians to make seals and amulets. Linda F sent in some comments she wanted to share about her collection: When my gram passed away a few years ago, I was thrilled to be given a few pieces of her Iris & Herringbone glass. I've managed to pick up a few more pieces, and it's been fun shopping online to add to my gram's collection. -------------------------- --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-2 * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38) |
