Be sure to visit our boards on Pinterest! https://www.pintere t.com/TIASAntiques/ Visit the page for the March Birthstone-Aquamarine or Bloodstone https://www.pinterest.com/TIASAntiques/march-birthstone-aquamarine- or-bloodstone/ Aquamarine is derived from Latin word aqua, meaning water, and marina, meaning the sea. Was believed to protect sailors, as well as to guarantee a safe voyage. The serene color of aquamarine is said to cool the temper, allowing the wearer to remain calm and levelheaded. The 2nd birthstone for March is bloodstone, dark-green jasper flecked with vivid red spots of iron oxide. This ancient stone was used by Babylonians to make seals and amulets.
