I'm tempted to give this particular one a try, if I can find lard and figure out what a "moderate" oven is lol!" Ginger Cookies 1 cup brown sugar 3 cups sifted pastry flour 1 1/2 teaspoons Gold Rule Soda 1 1/2 teaspoons Gold Rule Baking Powder 3 teaspoons Golden Rule Ginger 1 teaspoon Golden Rule Cinnamon 1 teaspoon Golden Rule Cloves 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1 cup Golden Rule Barbados Molasses 1 cup lard or Gold Rule Olive Oil 1 cup boiling water 2 eggs 3/4 cup Golden Rule Currants SIFT THE DRY INGREDIENTS. Add the beaten eggs, then the melted lard or olive oil, next the boiling water and then the molasses, stirring well. Then add the currants. Drop from a tablespoon onto oiled tins and bake in a moderate oven for about 15 minutes. Makes 9 dozen. -------------------------- --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-2 * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38) |
